Rahm just misses his birdie try on 1. He’s run a lot of putts close today. Par for him Rose pars too. Spieth lips his birdie try. He stays at one under. Jordan Spieth sticks it on the 1st hole his 10th of the day and he’ll have a look at birdie to get to two under.
Our trio is now playing their second par 3 of the day the 224-yard 16th. All three find the green and will have nice looks at birdie. Adam Scott is putting a quietly excellent round together. He’s four under at the turn and only three shots behind Kisner.
It’s gotta be tough just starting your round now; it means looking UP on the leaderboard. The top 12 players have already finished their second rounds. For those of you on “low club pro” watch Texan Ben Kern is currently low man. He’s +1 and will need a bit of good fortune to make the cut.
Kevin Kisner birdied his first hole (No. 10) to get to -4 for the tournament. Justin Rose is the only one to find the green on No. 1 as Spieth and Rahm come up short. Tournament leader Gary Woodland is even par through his first hole today to remain -6.
Rory Rahm Gary Woodland. Not Zach Johnson. Nor Zach Johnson. Everyone! They’re gonna tear this place to shreds. If it does rain on the weekend I could see 20 under winning. Rory was my pick to win before the rain and the soft conditions only make me like his chances more. Bring on the red numbers!
